Corruption triple play

Greetings good citizen,

Corruption everywhere you look and the courts simply look the other way. Four years and NOBODY has been prosecuted, thus are we still bleeding red ink…but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

When the wheels come flying off the streets WILL run red, unfortunately with the blood of the innocent but justly aggrieved.

So here on ‘Independence Day eve’ we have today’s top headlines, a mirror held up to our criminally led society. First up is this harbinger of ‘perpetual war’:
U.S. Adds Forces in Persian Gulf, a Signal to Iran
By THOM SHANKER, ERIC SCHMITT and DAVID E. SANGER.

The quiet but significant American military buildup in the Strait of Hormuz, in response to Iran's threat Monday to disrupt sea traffic, carries risks of confrontation.

Interactive Iran, the United States and a Nuclear Seesaw

Okay, the kerfuffle here is if you have a nuclear reactor, you can use it to make nuclear bombs.

That’s how the US became the most heavily nuclear-armed country on the face of the planet. We built a nuclear reactor before anybody knew what was going to happen next.

All we KNOW about the Iranian nuclear program is they are making fuel for use in a Russian built nuclear energy plant.

Now, we DIDN’T go to war when (Muslim) Pakistan developed their own A-bombs nor did we go on high alert when Pakistan’s enemy, India developed it’s own H-Bomb and we can only wonder why…(and how India ‘skipped’ the A-bomb step)

But like everything else these criminals do we will never know because everything they do is ‘secret’.

And you can’t help but wonder how many would HANG if those secrets ever saw the light of day?

And yet if you point out that Pakistan doesn’t have any appreciable oil reserves you’re dismissed as a kook!

Our military would NEVER trade blood for oil!

Which is how this latest move is defended by today’s pentagon.

The more time that goes by the farther Barrack Obama shows the >One percent’s hand up his ass! (Talk about ‘meat puppet’)

We are moving against Iran to protect our stooge friend in the Middle East, Israel.

Never mind that we just, er, ‘ceased open hostilities’ in Iraq after ten fucking YEARS and we can’t point to anything we ‘gained’ for the effort…(except lower unemployment here in the US, how fucking sad is THAT?)

Let us, for the sake of argument, posit that what passes for our current government is so corrupt that our servicemen (who regularly suicide because they can’t get released from their ‘contracts’, thanks to a corrupt court system) will be placed in harms way not in the defense of this nation but to enhance the bottom line of capitalism!

Happy Independence Day good citizen, I’m sure this is exactly what the founders had in mind when they (in secret and under armed guard) drafted the constitution.

Um, needless to say, while I selected the day’s top three news stories, the ‘theme’ is, er, ‘unmistakable’:
DealBook
Ex-Brokers Say JPMorgan Favored Selling Bank's Own Funds Over Others
By SUSANNE CRAIG and JESSICA SILVER-GREENBERG

As the bank became one of the nation's largest mutual fund managers, some current and former brokers say, it emphasized its sales over clients' needs.

Draw another sharp inward gasp as the horror of it all snatches your breath away. Are you astonished by this flagrant example of ‘profits over people’ that capitalism fosters so well?

Understand good citizen, this is the exact same version of capitalism that is completely incapable of providing jobs for everyone (owners profits are dependent on under-employment) who needs them and this has been true from the start!

Worse, the criminals in charge have long adopted the attitude that if you can’t find a way to ‘make yourself useful’ it’s YOUR problem, not theirs!

Well, population growth and automation coupled with the global race to the bottom has finally returned that bad volley, now there are enough of us to make it THEIR PROBLEM!

But we mustn’t dally because they are already moving to cut off our attack!

And so we arrive at our third ‘snippet’ for the day, still in keeping with the overall theme of profit driven corruption:
Glaxo Agrees to Pay $3 Billion in Fraud Settlement
By KATIE THOMAS and MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT

GlaxoSmithKline will plead guilty to promoting two drugs for unapproved uses and to failing to report important safety data about a diabetes drug.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they also offered to resurrect all of the loved ones they murdered due to their failure to be forthright?

Sadly, we don’t have a ‘way back’ machine that would enable ‘do-overs’

[Time travel is impossible because of the sheer volume of space involved, you have to move the entire UNIVERSE to travel in time.]

Um, one is tempted to count one’s blessings rather than curse our failures. But being thankful it isn’t us in the dumper (today) will be of little comfort when the day comes that it is US in the dumper and we did nothing when we could have acted to get rid of the dumper.

So there you have it, good citizen. Today’s top three news items and it’s all corruption and capitalism, all of the time.

And in case you were wondering, the markets are poised to break the 13,000 point mark again, for no apparent reason (except to make the already rich, richer.)

God Bless America (and as you know, I’m an atheist!)
