Political Solution

Greetings good citizen,

It’s all about employment and the lie that capitalists love to perpetuate, that the unemployed ‘choose’ to not work.

What is the most common conservative bromide being repeated even in times like these, when there are six applicants for EVERY open position?

“There’s a job out there if you WANT TO WORK!”

Sadly, this is ‘par for the course’ with conservatives, there’s reality and then there is the conservative worldview, which is so utterly disconnected from reality that even they have no clue where they get their ideas/beliefs from…

Like the ‘flat earther’s of old, could the answer be as ridiculous as ‘My grandpappy always said…’

But I digress, it is counter productive to rage over moronic mindsets. Stupid is as stupid does…

Which brings us to the latest political ‘wrangling’ out of Washington…which is to say what they (the elite) WANT to do about our employment problem and what actually needs to be fixed (what has to be done to yield results!)

The Presidink is proposing ‘tax cuts’ to employers as an incentive toward hiring…but guess what, W. cut their taxes to the point where the wealthy now pay less tax than the average employee does…and it did NOTHING to stimulate ‘investment’.

They aren’t going to invest in the expensive ‘here’ and it’s become pointless to invest in the cheaper ‘there’ because there are no customers!

Every mother lovin’ swinging dick out there is carrying too much debt! And the few that aren’t are not purchasing enough to ‘carry’ the (rest of the) economy.

Bizarrely, what ‘needs’ to be done is to return the local economies to health.

Up go the trade barriers! People matter more than profits!

For all of this nitwit talk of the wonders of a globalized economy, reality tells us, indeed, it is being demonstrated in real time right here and now, that ALL ECONOMIES ARE LOCAL!

YOU cannot live in an ECONOMIC DESERT! Nobody can!

Um, considering how ‘entrenched’ the selfish and the greedy are in our current social hierarchy, what do you suppose the chances are that they will ‘see the light’ and shift the global race to the bottom into reverse?

Slim to none?

Yeah, that egg has been cracked and those who have been given 'a taste’ of what life could be aren’t going to be too anxious to go back to living on dirt.

Understand that the flipside of the ‘expensive here’ vs. the cheaper there’ argument is the very mistaken notion that US workers are ‘overpaid’.

Poverty here in the ‘Promised Land’ is only marginally lower than it is in the typical third world cesspool! 40 million households (out of 117 million) on food stamps (with this being the only form of assistance many of them can get) does not, despite rhetoric to the contrary, make this 'the most desirable nation in the world!'

[Food assistance is NOT issued on an ‘individual’ basis…although the fucktards in the MSM would like you to think so. The picture, as you know from your own experience, is much worse than it appears.]

Ten minutes of what passes for the news around here is more than enough to convince a person of average intelligence that they have entered the ‘twilight zone’. NONE of this shit makes sense.

Anyone (not working on Wall Street) feeling ‘overpaid’? If you are, don’t let your boss find out or they will only too happy to ‘fix’ the problem and quickly!

Perhaps more disturbing is how Wall Street was (initially) ‘up’ today on ‘positive sentiment’ regarding the employment situation.

Which is to say somebody pointed out yesterday that the ‘tax incentives’ given to employers would be used to further automate production, adding fuel to an already out of control fire!

Rewind:

How confident are you that our politicians have a desperate situation ‘under control’?

Rephrase:

Are these people REALLY the best we can do?

Reaction:

Oh shit, oh fuck, oh no!

Ready or not, here it come!

(And most of us isn’t ready.)

What am I trying to say?

It ain’t gonna get ‘fixed’ until WE fix it.

And it’s not the kind of job you can ‘half-ass’.

You’ve GOTTA understand, THEY like things just the way they are.

They want you to be a ‘captive audience’ for their imports (and if you can’t afford them, it’s okay, the people who took your job can! That’s what the ‘win-win’ of globalization really means!

ALL Money is FUNNY and YOU are the FUCKEE!

Just something to think about (although they’d really prefer you didn’t…)

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Better Luck next time...

Greetings good citizen,

Some of you may have noticed the ‘keyword’ perception management being used quite frequently as of late…which sort of goes hand in hand with the, er, abundant number of posts labeled under ‘fraud’.

While the markets climbed a hundred points on ‘better than expected’ employment news what the fucktards NEGLECTED to mention was that the number of folks counted as ‘not in the workforce’ mushroomed by a whopping 800,000!

Not to put too fine a point on it good citizen but it is not too hard to imagine that the entire 8 million workers who lost their positions during the most recent ‘economic contraction’ are headed for the same fate: permanent unemployment.

As many of us ‘early casualties’ have noted, the most recent contraction seems to have hit the over fifty crowd exceptionally hard.

I used to lament not being anywhere for more than five years…now one is lucky to make it a single year before the employer du juor turns into a smoking hole in the ground.

Yes, talk about your ‘double whammy’, most of us of a certain age are now the proud owners of a more or less totally phantom resume!

Worse, the company still exists but the people you used to work with are all gone.

We can ‘ice’ this shit sundae with the fact that employers are now holding your phantom resume against you. If your history isn’t verifiable, it’s bullshit!

So, most of us have these huge honkin’ holes in our resumes and, through no fault of our own, these economic disasters are now being held against us.

Naturally, this is considered ‘our bad’ for lacking ‘good judgement’. We should have known better and acted accordingly.

Of course there is more here than meets the eye. It most certainly is NOT a coincidence that people who are just entering the years where they really need their health insurance coverage are the same people being, er, ‘cut loose’.

While this sure looks like ‘sour grapes’, there is more at work here than ‘bad luck’.

This is a blatant violation of the social contract.

We didn’t slave all of our lives just to make puss-nuts obscenely rich. That wasn’t what we signed up for.

We demand our ‘pound of flesh’ and we WILL extract it!
The bad news is many of the innocent will suffer as a war of ‘retribution’ plays itself out.

Just maybe, this time things will turn out differently…

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Employee Appreciation

Greetings good citizen,

As we return to our (rapidly decaying) economic environment we are long on woes and short on solutions.

Today’s NY Times advises us that future job openings will be the domain of the ‘highly skilled’.

We can only wonder if this isn’t code for ‘well-connected’.

Because the truth of the matter is, good citizen, that ALL jobs provide a ‘break-in’ so they can teach you how to do the job ‘their way’.

Despite the illusion above, no matter how ‘highly skilled’ you prove to be, you didn’t get hired to do the job ‘your way’; they hired you to do it their fucking way!

It’s enough to make you scream…but hey, if you want to distract the general public from the real solutions at hand, it’s best to be as ‘opaque’ as possible.

Now, oddly enough, the stock markets are ‘reflecting’ this latest round of, er, ‘disappointing news’.

You’d think Wall Street would be pleased with the latest, er, ‘stimulus proposal’ from the White House…after all, these ‘infrastructure improvements’ will ensure the smooth flow of imported goods throughout the nation!

Which is to ask…are YOU being played for a CHUMP?

You bet your sweet ass you are!

Notice that the latest ‘New Deal’ is really a ‘Raw Deal’ for US workers. President Obama is proposing to spend the same amount President Roosevelt spent (60 years ago), ignoring the fact that the new funds have only one thousandth of the purchasing power!

As Mr. Krugman points out, Mr. Roosevelt’s expenditure proved ‘insufficient’, this doesn’t bode well for Mr. Obama’s proposal.

Since our economic model is based primarily on ‘private employment’, the government has very little control over the employment situation…a circumstance that has been allowed to persist ‘so a few could be rich’.

What is the ‘solution’ to our employment woes?

Doesn’t everybody ‘need’ to work? (Excluding those who were ‘born rich’.)

Since a majority of us aren’t born with the proverbial ‘silver spoon’, the answer to the rhetorical question is a resounding ‘yes’.

So shouldn’t it be a ‘good thing’ that there are more people to divide what work there is amongst?

Logically one would think so, sadly, this is not (currently) the case.

Why, you might ask?

Because the rich become that way by ‘winning’ the difference between what they pay you and what they sell the product of your labor for.

It is not in THEIR interest to employ a single additional employee than they absolutely need. Worse, it IS in their interest to wring as much work as they can out of as few employees as possible.

In this respect, ‘productivity’ is an ‘economy killer’. Great for the capitalist but it sucks for everybody else!

If we back up a step and consider that all money is ‘funny’, this situation really becomes a ‘self-inflicted wound’.

We have been tricked into letting those who control the value of money (which is ever and always zero) into dictating the conditions of our material well-being.

This is where we encounter the ‘crux’ of the problem.

We suffer by allowing the ‘self-interested’ to ‘decide’ (which literally translates into dictating) the laws we all must live under without ever consulting any of us.

Your ‘vote’ is meaningless.

The ballot box does absolutely zero for you…and more importantly, yours.

As you can see, we will be unable to ‘solve’ the unemployment problem until we rectify the ‘exploitation crisis’.

We desperately require a blanket ban on any human making their income from the sweat of any other human’s brow, EVEN INDIRECTLY! (In your face Slumlords!)

With easily twice as many workers than there are jobs, this is looking really good for most of us. It means the ‘work week can be cut in half!’

Can you get by on half your pay?

Sure, so long as your expenses fall (and they will! It’s all there in A Simple Plan.)

What some of you balk at is the idea of how the currently privileged will, er, ‘react’ to these changes.

Let’s start of with the fact that they are perfectly cool with your misery/death at their expense (you live like an animal so they have ‘enough and to spare’.)

And their response to these untenable circumstances has been and will remain ‘if you don’t like it, tough!

So why should you give a crap if they ‘don’t like’ having their easy income stream extinguished so we all can enjoy fair prices?

You shouldn’t.

No irony should be lost on the fact that the only people who ‘object’ to this new, fair way of doing things are themselves, employers (Who often falsely believe THEY create the jobs that they provide! They don’t, often the need for what they did ‘evaporates’ then the jobs disappear…you don’t see stupid taking ‘credit’ for that turn of events, do you?)

If ‘civilization’ is to survive (and hopefully thrive) all members have to be guaranteed ‘a place at the table.’

A job is your right, you shouldn’t be denied employment because somebody can’t put a buck in their pocket at your expense!

If you’re not working now it is because ‘somebody’ decided THEY could make more for THEMSELVES if they shipped your job to the cheaper there!

What should we do with such, er, unappreciative assholes?

What will we run out of first, rope or utility poles?

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Too Popular?

Greetings good citizen,

Almost two years into a ‘WTF’ presidency we are all wondering what the hell went wrong.

An obviously bright guy with ‘impeccable’ credentials, just the sort of fellow you’d look for when you were up to your ass in alligators and couldn’t find the drain plug.

Take the package home & plug it in and all of a sudden Mr. Bright & Articulate is overwhelmed by the reality of the situation.

We’ve seen this before and there are a multitude of reasons for his sudden utter stupidity, the most obvious being that he has sold us out. He told us what we wanted to hear with no intention of doing any of it.

But, hey, whatcha gonna do?

It’s ‘too late’ to reverse the election and besides, our problems are much bigger than electing a coward.

It is my honest ‘opinion’ that an honest and brave individual would not make it onto the ballot. If they did, they would not win for the same reason some of the most popular people in our society do not seek public office.

Ask yourself why Bill Gates or Warren Buffet don’t throw their hats into the political arena.

They most certainly have the money to run…and neither draws a paycheck from their current position…so the ‘low pay’ would not be a dis-incentive.

Many of our past presidents were war heroes…but there haven’t been any of those since Eisenhower.

Nope, what troubles me good citizen is why the guys who have become ‘household names’ don’t run for public office?

This is nothing new. Why didn’t Rockefeller ever run? How about Neutron Jack? He would have made a far more suitable ‘Chief Executive’ than Bonzo’s co-star.

Why doesn’t Bill Gates or Warren Buffett run?

They are certainly well known and for the most part, well thought of.

Rich guys in politics…We have the billionaire Bloomberg…as the Mayor of NY City.

But wait a minute Slim…there are a LOT of ‘millionaire’ Congressmen and Senators.

We all know Jimmy Carter was a ‘peanut farmer’. What we don’t know is the name of that company/corporation.

(I’m sure if I dug hard enough I could ferret it out but chances are that unlike the former Vice President, it wouldn’t be a ‘household name’ (like Halliburton) except in the region it was principally located in.

If it had been Skippy or Peter Pan, we’d have known about it.

But I digress.

Why do you suppose it is that the ‘Captains of Industry’ (as a rule) don’t run for public office?

Ross Perot is an interesting character but neither he nor his company entered the spotlight BEFORE he became a public figure.

More interesting is how this holds true going back through our long and sordid history.

J.P. Morgan could most certainly have run for president…but he wasn’t noted as being a particularly, er, ‘fair-minded’ individual.

Which leaves us to wonder, is the ‘hard nosed executive type’ really a poor choice for, er, ‘Commander in Chief’?

Right about now someone with the backbone to make a few tough decisions would certainly be most welcome!

But don’t get me wrong good citizen, I am NOT advocating making some ruthless hard-ass president, even if half of the swinging dicks elected to the job like to act the part.

This is just something that occurred to me while discussing a different issue.

Why don’t the already highly visible CEO’s toss their hats into the political arena?

Could it be because their corporate competitors wouldn’t stand for it?

Imagine what you could do (for your business) with the power of the Oval Office behind you!

If this is indeed THE reason some of the best known figures in our society DO NOT enter public service…we got deeper problems than anyone thought.

IS the principle disincentive to holding high elected office that of trading command for the position of becoming one of the hired help?

That’s a pretty damning indictment good citizen but I tell you what, if they weren’t all as crooked as hell, it is precisely the talent pool we would want to draw from!

Perhaps it is the ‘servant’ part of public service that keeps the rich and shameless away from the ‘representative’ corridors of power…

Which is to ask if our corporate overlords don’t run because they already ‘own’ what passes for our government?

This, naturally, begs the question of what we are going to do about this untenable situation.

Sure, things are ‘fine’ now but how long do you expect that to last.

This has been building for the past forty years, they ain’t turning aside now.

It is almost time for the mid-terms…if the ‘certifiable crazy’ conservatives do well in the elections you will KNOW the ballot box is useless.

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Revelations

Greetings good citizen,

I just had an ‘epiphany’ that is as ‘dumb’ as it is ‘illuminating’.

this is where I had said ‘moment of enlightenment’, right at the point where Ilargi takes Mr. Reich to the woodshed.

Why do economists keep falling into this trap?

Because this is the ONLY WAY a ‘for profit’ social model can work! It HAS TO keep expanding or you get what we’re currently skating on the edge of…collapse.

Like societies that couldn’t conceive of civilization without slavery, we are stuck with the same kind of ‘faulty logic’!

In order for their models to work there HAS TO BE an ever expanding pool of profits.

Capitalism cannot exist in a ‘static state’…it collapses. Ironically, this is more due to the ‘ownership’ (private property) part of the puzzle than the ‘Fuck You, Pay Me!’ part.

Understand that capitalism is predicated on the ‘scarcity’ of resources; this is why ‘private property’ is sacrosanct. The US Constitution is a monument to this principal, thus is it worthless!

‘Locking down’ the source is the first step in ‘market creation’. If anybody can just pick up a resource off of the ground it sort of screws your ability to sell that item.

Understand, our civilization will destroy itself if we, er, continue to pursue this reckless and relentless economic model. (And until we ‘overhaul’ our political system, we WILL continue to pursue an economic model that only serves the few at the expense of the many!)

Every time capitalism has been ‘tried’ it has failed! The simple board game ‘Monopoly’ proves that!

This is a particularly frightening fact considering most of the world operates on some variant of capitalism…

So, have you shared my ‘epiphany’?

Things won’t change until the model is changed!

The bizarre part is 99% of us agree the current model is FUBAR, it’s that remaining 1% that likes things fine just the way they are…

Worse, ‘scorching the earth’ (destroying their ‘property’) will only strengthen their resolve. (The only thing that gets under their skin more than the destruction of their engines of profit is insubordination!)

The ‘attack’ has to be more direct…rope around the neck direct.

If these people could ‘see reason’ we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Sadly, for most of them, they fail to appreciate the true benefits of civil society.

Which are (so we’re all on the same page) being ‘freed’ from the requirement to do EVERYTHING personally as well as general ability to walk about unarmed AND unmolested (most places, most of the time.)

It should trouble most of you greatly that these ‘luxuries’ are about to come to an abrupt end.

When embarking upon one of life’s many urgent missions (because you will have been returned to a time when you DO have to do EVERYTHING yourself) you have to ‘start over’ if your ‘forget’ to bring your weapon…because you won’t be returning if you venture forth ‘unprepared…’

Understand these are the same assholes who ‘give’ you a job…(because they are ‘too stupid’ to realize you’d have to do it anyway if they wanted you to or not!)

Sometimes I marvel that civilization has gotten this far…although I deeply appreciate that we arrived here by ‘force of arms’ and not ‘towering intellect’.

What does it tell you when every time intellect tries to point us down a sustainable path, the force of arms is used to subdue the ‘non-conforming’ school of thought?

Can we, as a species, afford to be led by people who can’t see beyond the end of their own noses?

If we are to save ourselves, we need to ‘take charge’.

Is our species worth saving?

The coming ‘test’ will tell the story.

Ready to ‘rise to the occasion?’

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Buckle up!

Greetings good citizen,

There were very few ‘buyers’ (among the ranks of non-investors) regarding yesterday’s inexplicable ‘rally’.

I’m willing to bet the ‘surge’ in the Dow was driven by the same financial entities that comprise the majority of the Dow ‘industrials’ (my ass) index.

What does your ‘economy’ look like when the bulk of your ‘leading index’ is made up of, er, ‘institutions’ that buy and sell, ahem, STOCKS?

How ‘accurate’ a picture do you think we are receiving?

What prevents these lying weasels from pumping up each other’s stock?

Nuthin, (most of ‘em can’t spell ‘ethics’ much less have any!)

In case you aren’t getting my meaning here, RED ALERT!!!

In tonight’s first offering we see the stage is set for an explosive start to the onset of cold weather.

Intended to ‘put you to sleep’ is there is nothing in either story that hasn’t been going on for years, hell decades.

What you need to recognize is we have finally hit the ‘breaking point’.

Jobs/prosperity isn’t coming back. This latest ‘economic downturn’ marks the beginning of our slide into becoming a (bonafide) Banana Republic.

Ironically, ‘going quietly’ isn’t an option.

What you need to decide right here and now is what you intend to do when the National Guard guns down your sibling in cold blood.

I’m betting a majority will choose to ‘return fire’.

Understand good citizen, these people have been ‘trapped/betrayed’ and the puppets that pass for our government haven’t lifted a single finger to correct the problem.

Because the people who caused the problem don’t want the problem ‘solved’.

Your choices here good citizen are really quite simple…either we have ‘majority rule’ or we have rule by the elite minority.

We can’t have both, something’s got to give and when it does, the ‘retaliatory attacks’ (on both sides) will be hellacious.

Buckle up good citizen, it’s going to be one hell of a ride!

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

The consumer is wrecked

Greetings good citizen,

How about those headlines, eh? Can you believe that stock market? Up almost 200 points for no good reason at all!

Well, actually it looks like it is up for the usual reason, fabricated/sloppily interpreted data.

Naturally, those clowns in the MSM had to include their favorite buzzword…’surprise!’

Think about that one for a second…for people who are supposed to have their fingers on the pulse of the global economy they sure as hell get surprised a lot more than logic would allow for.

We seem to have arrived once again at that fine line which separates ‘ignorant’ from ‘stupid’. I, for one, am leaning towards the latter of the two…

While ignorance can be fixed, stupid is permanent.

Since the MSM is constantly ‘surprised’ (by obvious bullshit) we must conclude…

Which is to warn you against paying any attention to the agenda driven by our corporate overlords…(to whom)

YOU are the ENEMY.

As we have clearly established on these pages long ago, the stock markets have nothing to do with reality. At best they tell us how the already fabulously wealthy are fairing, not that this alters your circumstances a single iota.

So, as usual, we are left with the mystery of ‘who’ this media Kabuki dance is being preformed for?

Because everybody knows 'The Consumer is Totally Wrecked'

And this is like what, the third supposedly ‘huge’ uptick in manufacturing in the past couple of years? Apparently our definitions of ‘huge’ differ considerably…

It naturally leads one to suspect the very definition of ‘manufacturing’…did the Bush Administration succeed in converting food service into the manufacturing sector?

Are we really counting ice cream cones passed out of take out windows as ‘production jobs’ and a major part of our (new) GDP…the ‘new normal’ is pretty damn frightening if you ask me!

But I digress, let us proceed with Mr. Davidowitz’s analysis:

The consumer is totally wrecked and that's why there's no way this economy's coming back, because the consumer is 70 percent of the U.S. economy....

The consumer is out of money...They have no jobs. We've got 18-and-a-half percent unemployment and underemployment. The consumer's debt is 120 percent of disposable income...The consumer is wrecked.

Mr. Davidowitz is not wrong, the ‘average’ working aged citizen (worldwide) is fairing precisely how s/he is portrayed here…so ‘who’ is buying all of this shit they (falsely) claim China is producing?

Wage cuts and lay-offs do NOT produce a bustling economy, which must be why the stupid MSM is ‘surprised!’

It doesn’t matter what THEY believe, their job is to get YOU to believe in sunshine, lollipops and rainbows everywhere…

This is what the Nazi wannabes continually fail to grasp…lies are lies and no amount of candy coating alters the facts!

Claiming everything is just ‘peachy’ doesn’t make it so…even if you’re only trying to convince the fairly well off.

Because you have already used the misery you’ve created for the ‘redundant’ laboring class as a whip on the dwindling ‘middle (neither here nor there) class.’)

So who is this Kabuki dance supposed to ‘impress’, the kids?

Sick as it seems, it’s never too soon to twist perception in your favor.

They are (well, some of them anyway) your future employees.

This is another damning indictment against our twisted upper class, their abominable misconception of what’s ‘necessary’.

They will stop at NOTHING to cement their continued domination over us and I do mean nothing!

It is a ‘sickness’ and we desperately need to ‘weed’ those infected with it out of society.

This is an acknowledgement that we have a ‘two-pronged’ problem…one is the rules themselves and the other is the people who don’t (and never will) think the rules apply to them specifically.

You can’t make rules for the self-important. It is an exercise in futility.

Ironically, this makes the ‘weeding process’ that much easier.

What needs to be combated is the notion that this sickness is ‘curable’. Which brings us full circle to the ‘stupid/ignorant’ dilemma.

Stupid CAN’T be cured, it is what it is. Self-importance that extends beyond College is similarly, ‘incurable’. If you haven’t gotten over yourself by the time you have reached the legal age of majority (21), chances are you won’t.

This sort of a defect carries with it the bizarre belief that society cannot survive (exist) without slavery (and you’re correct if you desire a bourgeoisie society, a society predicated on the exploitation of others!)

None of us are any ‘better’ than the rest. It is beyond ironic that those who consider themselves a cut above have consistently proven themselves to be the most savage and ruthless (and often the most ignorant!)

It should be a mystery to no one as to why ‘pride’ is one of the ‘deadly sins’.

Hopefully, this puts my assertion into perspective. It is a problem so ancient they preached about it in the damn Bible.

Education was supposed to ‘solve’ this problem but, as you can see, it has only made it worse.

Some of you have probably noticed that many of my posts end somewhat abruptly…because I lead you to the edge of a ‘quagmire’ then abandon you there.

I do this to provide you with something to ponder…I also makes the posts manageably briefer by not getting bogged down on the horns of the many dilemma you’d find within.

Remember, my objective is not to tell you what to think, my object is to give you something to think about!

Thanks for letting me inside your head,
