Dog ; Barking (post 1111)

Greetings good citizen,

Um, haven’t heard the final analysis yet but it looks like last night’s debate might be called a ‘draw’.

Check out the top story in today’s NY Times:
TOP NEWS
Rivals Bring Bare Fists to Rematch

By JIM RUTENBERG and JEFF ZELENY

In a charged and clenched debate, President Obama portrayed Mitt Romney as a former corporate raider, while Mr. Romney kept bringing the discussion back to Mr. Obama's record.
For all of my complaints about the corporate owned media, you can’t come closer to the raw truth than the paragraph we see above.

This single statement perfectly illustrates our plight as voters.

Neither man is ‘fit’ to become the next president (and it’s a fairly popular sentiment that the incumbent gained office under false pretenses.)

If he had a ‘mandate’ at all, it was to prosecute the Bush Administration for War Crimes.

What did he do with that mandate?

We got a Republican designed ‘mandatory’ healthcare bill.

And despite all of their squirming and promises to ‘repeal’ the new law…the lying fucks passed it in the first place…and their Insurance company Masters aren’t going to let them repeal it.

(And, naturally, it will be made to appear that the Democrats ‘stonewalled’ the repeal process.)

Like there are still Democrats in public administration! Ha!

The rich squeezed them out long ago…weirdly around the same time their bought and paid for boys were showering them with tax cuts. (Totally shattering the dynamics of politics.)

So if we back track to the beginning of today’s post the point would be the observation that neither candidate is, er, ‘equipped’ to straighten out our warped and twisted economy, nor would you want either one of them presiding over the pushing of the ‘reset button’.

Which is what it will take to get the global economy rolling again.

How do we fix our current mess given that we have no control over what our politicians do after we elect them?

How do you ‘fix’ that?

The >One Percent have a rather effective method of ‘controlling’ their bought and paid for politicians. If they don’t do EXACTLY as they are told, they get assassinated, simple as that.

Sometimes this actually involves killing but most times they use leverage to assassinate the character of the, er, ‘rebel’…like Elliot Spitzer.

He ain’t dead…but he may as well be.

The Emperor’s club incident thoroughly trashed his reputation.

How do we combat that?

You can bet your bottom dollar that most campaign funding today is tied to providing the contributor with ‘usable dirt’ he can hold over the candidates head.

Just a business deal, right? Nothing wrong with that, a simple ‘understanding’ between the purchaser and the provider of a service, that’s all.

Except this asshole just bought YOUR right to protest your mistreatment!

And now forty percent of the workforce doesn’t have work and the scum-bucket >One Percent says it’s not their problem!

How do you overcome that?

Short answer, you don’t.

NOW ‘what are YOU going to do about it’ (besides starve?)

Freeze?

If you don’t ‘see the need’ to address these shortcoming in the design of our political system, you probably won’t live to see them either.

And just to reiterate, even the founders agreed that the original set up was ‘deeply flawed’.

Worse, most thought it was a ‘temporary’ set-up, that it would be fixed later…before corruption got ‘too bad’.

Did you know that A Simple Plan is bullet proof right out of the box?

It doesn’t need ‘fixing’, it meshes with itself perfectly…and the ONLY people who don’t like it are CRIMINALS!

Although I must confess, the world is righteously full of ‘suspicious’ people who believe A Simple Plan is ‘too utopian’ for their tastes.

They condemn it on the ‘too good to be true’ basis.

And there is some potential for social harm through ‘mal-administration’ (criminals pushing for exemptions to the human anti-exploitation law. Which outlaws the buying and selling of ANYTHING ‘for personal gain’.

And there are the facts good citizen, the only way for the global economy to ‘recover’ is by pushing the ‘reset button’.

However, if the current crew presides over this ‘reset’ then we will need to do it again in about five years while NOTHING improves (for the average individual.)

And only a few will know that the whole process is merely a smokescreen they are using to avoid prosecution (for crimes against humanity.)

Ironically yet another ‘illusion of doing something’ where nothing gets done and nothing changes.

If we are to stop them, we need to stop them cold with a clearly defined plan of action.

A Simple Plan is that plan of action.

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

RUN!

Greetings good citizen,

I thought there was something goofy with the Stock charts in the NY Times until I realized today is Saturday (duh!)

Lovely thing weekends…just one of the many things our new overlords are eager to dispense with.

You don’t need ‘leisure time’. Every minute you’re not working for them, you’re not making THEM money, so leisure time (for you) is OUT!

Just who will pay whom, what after we (the bulk of us) are enslaved remains a mystery?

Perhaps it will revert to the old standard where the holder of the most slaves will, by default, be declared ‘the richest’.

Notice how I am avoiding the ‘O’ word. Ownership is taboo (and will remain so) You Own property but you ‘care for’ people thus will our new owners refer to themselves as our ‘custodians’.

But I digress.

I was just admonishing you to enjoy your weekend (while you still can.)

Which is another way of belaboring the obvious, the destruction of our civilization proceeds apace…and is drawing towards its inevitable conclusion.

Um, I don’t usually do ‘current events’ but this morning’s announcement that Willard has picked PAUL RYAN, (author of the ‘Death to America’ tax program) as his running mate has assured us either an Obama victory or a revolt right after election day.

Which one will our overlords choose?

I’m picking revolt.

(Twisted old bastard that I am.)

And make no mistake about it good citizen, the election has, as of this announcement, become an unstated referendum regarding the busting of Unions altogether, the ‘liberation’ of >One Percent from anything resembling a sense of ‘social obligation' and the entrenchment of a culture of ‘permanent war’ in what passes for, er, ‘the (no longer ‘our’) government.

Heed the warning: 'Gird thy Loins’…(prepare for battle.)

How ironic is it that their goal is to inspire hatred of a government that they themselves ruined?

How moronic to think people will not attack those they perceive as responsible for the destruction of our civilization?

Probably no more so than the destroyers thinking they are ‘improving’ the playing field for the, er, ‘Master Race’.

Which is to opine that only those who are well paid to do so will graciously bow to our self proclaimed ‘betters’.

Now we shall proceed with today’s offering from Mr. Williams over at Shadow Stats.com
No. 462: June Trade Balance, Consumer Credit
Subscription required August 9th, 2012
• Bernanke Bemoans GDP Not Reflecting Common Experience
• Trade Data Place Upside Pressure on Second-Quarter GDP Revision
• Consumer Credit Growth Remains All in Student Loans More ...
What do you suppose ‘Helicopter Ben’ is moaning about? Have we come full circle to the night and day differences between the >One Percent and the rest of us? Is he calling the conditions the >One Percent currently enjoy the ‘Common Experience?

And let’s take a closer look at that last note: How Consumer Credit is pretty much restricted to kids taking loans to study for jobs that don’t exist!

They should issue every kid in the US a copy of MegaTrends when they enter High School, that way they’ll know that they’ve been relegated to either making it onto the global police force or as a cog in the geriatric care machine.

Don’t get me wrong, I despise MegaTrends and all that it stands for. It is the quintessential Libertarian ‘Road Map to Hell’ and I’m looking forward to sending it’s author and a few others to ‘cha-cha with the Gila Monsters’ for their total lack of empathy.

(It goes without saying that the above ‘wishful thinking’ is predicated upon the successful adoption of A Simple Plan!)
No. 461: July Employment and Unemployment
Subscription required August 3rd, 2012
• Nixonian Unemployment Reporting
• July Household-Survey Employment Plunged by 195,000
• Annual Add-Factors in Birth-Death Model Upped to 548,000 Jobs
• July Unemployment: 8.3% (U.3), 15.0% (U.6), 22.9% (Shadow Stats)
• Shadow Stats Unemployment Within 0.1 Percentage Point of Cycle-High
• Year-to-Year July M3 Money Supply Growth Even with June More ...
I believe Mr. Williams also points to the record low ‘labor force participation rates’ which tell the true story of the crisis facing this nation and it’s corrupt and broken operating system.

Did you know that when they first tabulated the heinous ‘not in the workforce’ figures under Slick Willy there were only 56 million so designated?

How fucked up is it to see that figure now standing at over 80 million (and once you reach 65 you don’t count at all anymore!)

Which is to point out that the picture is far grimmer than you’ve been led to believe.

But you knew that.

How sad is it good citizen that old folks need money too?

And if you’re the adult children of today’s ‘old folks’ you know this very well.
No. 460: FOMC, June Construction, Disposable Income, PCE Deflator
Subscription required August 1st, 2012
• Fed Action Appears to Be on Hold for Systemic-Solvency Crisis
• Construction Spending Still Bottom-Bouncing
• Disposable Income Flattens Out More ...

We got into this mess by ‘massaging the numbers’ and as our clueless politicians have shown, they can no longer get away with ‘pretending’ everything is all right…

Although it seems Heilcopter Ben has a problem with ‘reality’.

If you only look at the > One Percent, everything’s just ducky!

Would that it were good citizen.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all crawl into our fantasy worlds and never come out?

Unfortunately the > One Percent is planning in sending as many of us as they can on a one way trip to a dirt nap, just as soon as they finish getting their own asses out of harm’s way.

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Ballot Box

Greetings good citizen,

Markets opened ‘up’ but were heading back down as of mid-morning in fact it had the precise appearance of a ‘nosedive’…but you never know, those traders may pull out of it in time to save yesterdays record 293 point gain.

Again, for absolutely no apparent reason.

The global economy is still in operative and so is the global political system, as evidenced here

Before pressing on I would like to point out that the, er, ‘psychologist’ being quoted is a Brit and he provides us an example of what WE look like from across the pond.

Rest assured I will chime in with my ‘opinion’ as to why working people vote Republican.
Here's a more painful but ultimately constructive diagnosis, from the point of view of moral psychology: politics at the national level is more like religion than it is like shopping. It's more about a moral vision that unifies a nation and calls it to greatness than it is about self-interest or specific policies. In most countries, the right tends to see that more clearly than the left. In America the Republicans did the hard work of drafting their moral vision in the 1970s, and Ronald Reagan was their eloquent spokesman. Patriotism, social order, strong families, personal responsibility (not government safety nets) and free enterprise. Those are values, not government programs.

The Democrats, in contrast, have tried to win voters' hearts by promising to protect or expand programmes for elderly people, young people, students, poor people and the middle class. Vote for us and we'll use government to take care of everyone! But most Americans don't want to live in a nation based primarily on caring. That's what families are for.

One reason the left has such difficulty forging a lasting connection with voters is that the right has a built-in advantage – conservatives have a broader moral palate than the liberals (as we call leftists in the US). Think about it this way: our tongues have taste buds that are responsive to five classes of chemicals, which we perceive as sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and savoury. Sweetness is generally the most appealing of the five tastes, but when it comes to a serious meal, most people want more than that.

Right out of the box I’d opine that this is about as ‘Ivy Tower’ as you can get!

I would further ‘opine’ that comparing British conservatives to our own ‘neo-cons’ is like comparing apples to elephants!

The Brits actually HAVE a monarchy, here the pretentious assholes merely pretend to be ‘gods elect’.

Why do our ‘working people’ vote for obviously odious conservo-nazis?

The answer is as simple as the spineless Jellyfish the Libertarians run as democrats!

The obnoxious Republicans may be repugnant but at least they stick together!

The spineless democrats stood and watched while the conservo-nazis stripped the working class of union protection and off-shored 99% of our productive capacity.

THAT’S WHY THERE ARE SO MANY INDEPENDENTS!

You don’t need ‘psycho-babble’ to figure this one out.

Did I mention I suspect the wing-dings at AlterNet (who are supposedly ‘progressive’ are in fact Libertarians?)

That is why we see so many articles like this one.

The Brits would call it ‘rubbish’ (and we should too!)

Which brings us to the union busting conservo-nazi’s victory in Wisconsin yesterday.

It seems the mindless masses in Cheeseland think the only time a politician should be ‘rebuked’ is when he is guilty of mal-administration.

So it appears the ‘union busting’ falls right into the governor’s bailiwick as far as the people of Wisconsin are concerned.

Again, we only have the ‘pretend democratic’ view on this upset. My gut tells me the corporate owned media reported the outcome they desired and flipped the public the middle finger!

But we have no way to prove that…and there will be no such thing as an independent probe to examine the ballots, not going to happen.

Pseudo-democracy is already on mighty shaky ground as it is.

We don’t need ‘proof positive’ that the media has been ‘fixing’ elections for the past hundred years to surface just months before the next presidential bid.

Yeah, it is little ‘demonstrations’ like yesterday that make the working voter throw in their lot with those who would exploit them.

Because ‘choice’ has become an illusion, although I must admit, the ‘illusion’ is wearing thinner all of the time.

Look at the choices being presented to us this November…a ‘burn and churn capitalist’ and a make believe Democrat who doesn’t deserve a second term.

Yes, we need look no further than the current occupant of the White House to learn why ‘working people’ vote against their own interests…because voting their interests produced nothing…and that’s the hell of it good citizen.

We come full circle to the ‘what can we do about this’ problem?

They have already shown us the outcome of the November elections and sadly that outcome is ‘more of the same regardless of who they crown.

And most of us have had more of this than we can stand.

Will we make it to November?

We’ll see.

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Die!

Greetings good citizen,

For the third consecutive day the world’s stock markets are taking a beating, which can be viewed as the ‘super-rich’ culling their ranks.

Which is to once again belabor the obvious, you were either ‘born to it’ or you weren’t.

Which brings us to today’s offering where the ignorant wannabes wish a speedy death upon themselves:
As a favor to struggling Americans, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., proposed a federal budget last week ravaging programs for the poor, elderly, disabled, young, veterans, jobless, students and other vulnerable people. Ryan did it, he said, because these programs, food stamps, health insurance, Pell grants, veteran’s hospitals and the like are demeaning.

So Ryan plunders them and gives the savings to the rich in the form of additional tax breaks. Half of the savings in Ryan’s budget come from destroying health insurance programs. That would cost tens of millions of Americans their coverage.

Uninsured and underinsured toddlers, injured veterans, and disabled workers may die from some curable disease as a result. But at least Ryan will save those people from being demeaned!

What do you do with Chowdah heads like Representative Ryan?

Why is he even in government? (Which he obviously loathes and much more importantly DOESN’T UNDERSTAND!)

WTF, good citizen?

It asks an even more curious question such as WHAT THE FUCK WERE THE PEOPLE IN HIS DISTRICT THINKING?

But you already know my opinion on the matter, it doesn’t mater if NOBODY in Wisconsin can be found that admits to voting for him, we’d have gotten him anyway because the ONE who reports the election results ‘owns’ the election (even if nobody shows up!)

Which brings us full circle to our ‘corporate owned media’ problem.

The media is constantly reminding us that we are ‘evenly divided’ so unlikely outcomes at the ballot box will seem plausible.

HOWEVER, the OWS movement brought one simple fact to the fore good citizen, that we are FAR FROM being ‘equally divided’. There is the >One Percent and there’s the rest of us.

So when this election, like so many before it, goes the way the >One Percent wants it to, (Which is ‘Re-elect the incumbent’) then we will have nothing to bitch about.

Except for the Elephant in the room; that the most unelectable president in US history is running ‘unopposed’.

We are indeed, once again staring down the barrel of the ‘is this the best ‘we’ (big money) can do?’ question.

If it is then our political machinery is broken beyond all repair.

And there is only ONE WAY to repair it…eliminate the ‘Middle Man’ that actively prevents YOUR participation in the government of YOUR affairs!

Exile the current (and all living former) elected officials and NEVER replace them!

Of course to do this you would have to subscribe to a social/economic system where ‘exile’ was legal…(such as A Simple Plan.)

We all know it’s not about us, it’s about the future. Which is why you should be pissed off because the >One Percent ARE running things like it is ALL ABOUT THEM!

Under A Simple Plan the > One Percent ‘goes away’…never to return.

Which is to point out that the current group won’t be directly genetically related to future groups claiming to be our ‘betters’.

Which is to admit that the nonsense of ‘pedigree and breeding’ won’t die just because we outlaw their ability to rob the rest of us blind.

Nope, as soon as the new social order establishes itself there will rise up a ‘secret’ new organization of our self-professed ‘betters’ (because these socio-paths honestly believe they are ‘superior’ to the rest of us.)

Naturally, whenever one of these ‘hate groups’ surfaces, its membership will be exiled.

And, weirdly even that won’t make the problem go away…

Just saying, ya know?

Which brings us to the real reason I picked this article…

It is obvious that Alternet picked it because it shows conservatives acting like conservatives.

I, naturally, like to back up a step or two and look at it without the ‘political filter’.

The basic ‘us vs. them’ battle because it really is a ‘Master-Slave’ battle going down here.

If you ‘work’ (or engage in any activity that isn’t at least semi self-serving) you are automatically ‘inferior’ (and therefore deserving of contempt.)

(This whole ‘better’ thing is actually quite easy to understand. ‘Born to wealth and privilege’ = Master. Not? Well, I’m sure you can figure it out…)

The dynamic hardly changes at all if we adjust it to the more ‘politically correct’ terms of ‘employer and employee’.

It helps to view things in ‘absolutes’ like this because it makes what is going on easier to understand.

Tarzan doesn’t give a fuck if ‘the hired help’ is happy, it’s not his problem.

Tarzan really wishes he could run you through a meat shredder instead of firing you, that way you’d be of some use to him after you’re gone.

Need medical care? Good luck trying to find some one who will care for you out of the kindness of their hearts because (thanks to YOU) Tarzan has enough to PAY for the very best, FUCK you!

Um, if something about this image is disturbing to you, I strongly suggest you DO something about it…PDQ!

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

The Sad State of Modern Politics

Greetings good citizen,

As one might expect, the state of politics is no better than the state of the economy.

Yet some believe that with the ‘right’ (and I do mean RIGHT and not ‘synonymous with correct’) leadership this whole disaster can be, er, averted.

No irony should be lost on the fact that these people don’t appreciate the gravity of the situation. (They vote Republican solely because ‘that’s who they are’…)

Sadly, this is what happens when you apply a ‘Damn the torpedoes’ psychology to EVERYTHING, thereby eradicating the fine line between brave and STUPID!)

Yes, while there are those who naively believe the ‘right candidate’ is capable of ‘fixing’ everything, there exists an even, er, ‘dimmer’ subset of the electorate that has no idea anything is even amiss.

So much the better for the politicians/criminals…

Which brings us to today’s offering , an exercise in seeking an ‘elect-able’ candidate after the failure of both political parties.

The basic pitch of Americans Elect goes like this: We’ll go through the expensive and time-consuming process of getting ballot access in all 50 states. Then we’ll hold an online convention in June in which any registered voter can participate. Participants will nominate a presidential ticket including one Democrat and one Republican who will then enter the general election fray.

Here’s what the group is not so upfront about: It’s fueled by millions of dollars of secret money, there is a group of wealthy, well-connected board members who have control over Americans Elect’s nominating process, and the group has myriad links to Wall Street.

Americans Elect has been getting periodic bursts of support from prominent commentators.

We are ‘led to believe’ that this new variant on the now Libertarian dominated ‘sniff test’ is NOT led/funded by, er, ‘progressives’.

In fact the ‘strange’ part of the whole exercise is the, er, ‘focus’ on keeping the two party ‘charade’ intact! (If we’re all in this ‘together’ good citizen then WHO is ‘the opposition’?)

So WHO is behind this, er, ‘search for a suitable puppet?’

You don’t suppose it is the same people who hijacked the electoral process in the first place, do you?

I mean, who else could it be?

Then there’s the flipside of this coin, one that I have raised a few times before, the quandary of electing an honest player into an already corrupt game.

Without the, er, ‘support’ of the courts there is no way our ‘honest man’ can clean up, much less prosecute the corrupt.

This is similar to the bizarre Republican victory in the House, just in time to block legislation that would, er, punish the financial sector.

I mean Bubba, they’ve already ‘tipped their hand’, do they have to beat you over the head with it too?

So, what should the ‘winner’ of this popularity contest do?

If they had any ‘integrity’ at all, he/she would tell them to go fuck themselves!

Anyone with half a brain would!

Political puppets have extremely short life spans…it’s a ‘credibility thing’.

They run on promising to take this or that currently popular action, knowing their campaign contributors are paying him/her to DO precisely the opposite!

While those who ‘control’ electoral politics also control the media (which is how they ‘insure’ that the ‘right’ candidate, er, wins) people will stop believing the charade if a ‘spent’ candidate keeps winning re-election.

This is the downside of rigging the ballot box, if you don’t do it carefully, you WILL breed a revolt!

Case in point; here we are, less than a dozen election cycles since they started ‘fixing’ elections and they’ve succeeded in destroying the credibility of BOTH parties…so now they’re hunting for an ‘elect-able’ candidate…

WTF good citizen, WTF!

If we were to ‘assume the best’ and take it on faith that this is the efforts of a ‘concerned’ citizens group, interested in keeping our ‘two party system’ alive < sarcasm on >(Because it has ‘worked so well’ for the past two hundred years…)< sarcasm off > we’d still be faced with the ‘already corrupt system’ conundrum, making the whole exercise one in futility.

While this Alternet article also questions the ‘motives’ behind this sinister ploy it doesn’t take the extra step and ask ‘who wins if this succeeds?’

It sure as hell won’t be YOU!

Which is certainly a sign that it is once again time to embark on a, er, campaign for a New Deal.

Only this time we won’t stop until we get a total makeover…like the one laid out in A Simple Plan…

No, not the Movie or the Rock band…the PLAN that is posted here on this website!

It is our first best hope…to the point that we can’t afford to not make it a reality!

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Workers of the World, Unite!

Greetings good citizen,

Events are conspiring to rob me of time so this post may be unusually brief.

Often previous posts inspire future musings and such is the case today. Specifically, it is yesterday’s observation that the next ‘push for the White House’ will focus vaguely on jobs and more closely on ‘workers’.

Since the Democrats and the Republicans are BOTH corporate ‘sellouts’, it doesn’t matter which one you vote for because what you'll wind up with is an opportunist willing to sell you down the river to the highest bidder.

Is there any irony here that this is both ‘treason AND politics’?

If ever there has been a greater opportunity for a ‘genuine third party' now is that time!

And the ‘Workers Party’ is the ‘way’…although there’s a little problem with that particular name…it’s already spoken for.

Yes good citizen the problem is compounded by the fact that the ‘Worker’s Party’ is better known as the ‘Socialist Worker’s Party’. (Not that this is a ‘bad thing’ considering our biggest ‘capitalist rivals’ are the COMMUNIST CHINESE!)

Key to setting up this new political party would be the vetting process designed to ‘weed out’ both Dino’s and Rino’s alike.

What use would it be to create a genuine third party only to have it usurped by the same sellouts who market themselves under the current two party ‘labels’, shifting allegiances as the political winds blow back and forth?

We don’t need another ‘vehicle’, what we need is a genuine foundation for change!

Something to vote ‘for’ instead of trying to pick the lesser of two evils!

Sadly, until things change, this is probably the most we can hope for.

The real challenge, as you know, will be preventing a true ‘people’s party’ from being ‘hijacked’.

Secondary to that will be the job of protecting the reputation of the defenders of the public trust from being smeared by the, er, ‘opposition’.

How sad is it that the MSM has already proven ‘ready, willing and able’ to besmirch the reputation of any organization that challenges their employers?

Which is to point out that sometimes the only way to fight fire is with fire…

Any ‘worker’s party’ that ISN’T attacked by the CO media has already been corrupted by the same influences that now control the Democratic and Republican parties.

It will be the intensity of these attacks that will indicate the degree with which the forces of corruption have succeeded.

The initial attacks will be, ‘feeble’…a grasping at straws, making nasty accusations for the sake of making them sort of thing.

As they succeed in ‘misrepresenting’ the statements of the candidates, the attacks will get more specific and ‘baseless’ will no longer have anything to do with it.

Left to your imagination will be the ‘validity’ of their claims that supporters of the workers party are behind the burning down of their media outlets.

They’ve been lying for decades, they’ve made a LOT of enemies…whose to say it wasn’t just a good time to go on the offensive?

Sidebar: Worker’s Party or not, media outlets WILL be attacked for their continued, repeated misrepresentations of the facts as they stand. This will happen in the not too distant future.

Let me slip my ‘fortune teller’s turban’ off here and return to ‘the political crusade’…

The ‘success’ of this wildfire ‘people’s movement’ will be marked by the eventual ‘dissolution’ of our current government after a ‘coup’ led by a group masquerading as the, er, ‘extreme right’… you know, those ‘one in five’ that keep winning elections?

The wildcard here is whether or not this will result in a bona-fide ‘civil war’?

What it will do is provide cover for the greedy as they escape the sinking USA…most will join their ‘off-shore’ operations in the artificially ‘cheaper there’…

And THERE good citizen, is the rub! Do we let these miscreants ‘escape justice’ or do we pursue and prosecute them?

Here we confront the true purpose of ‘politics’…

Some would be ‘content’ to be rid of the selfish and greedy, while others won’t rest easy until ‘justice’ has been served.

I’ll leave you to your own thoughts on this matter.

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Gegner

Sitting on their hands...

Greetings good citizen,

This morning’s trip around the blogosphere revealed a lot of ‘warm hands’, which is to infer that most commentators are ‘sitting’ upon them…

Cudos to Hellacious over at ‘Sudden Debt’, he kept it short and sweet, dispensing wisdom for those who would heed it.

I chose to vote before surfing the net so I’ll share my ‘observations’ for what they’re worth…

I’ll start with a ‘two-edged sword’…the only people standing in front of the polls holding campaign signs this morning were Republicans.

At first glance this displays a certain, er, ‘tenacity’ (even though it was a relatively nice day for early November…)

Flipping that rock over, SOMEBODY has to go to work (which explains the absence of Democratic campaigners here in a disturbingly ‘red’ part of a largely ‘blue’ state.)

However, given the state of the economy it seems unlikely that there weren’t at least SOME unemployed Democrats willing to come and stand out in the brisk autumn air for a couple of hours.

If the Anarchists start fielding candidates, I’ll do my share (although this isn’t what Anarchy is about…we believe in ‘true’ direct democracy so there are no ‘representatives’.)

So, what is an Anarchist doing voting?

It’s ‘damage control’.

Since I can’t vote directly on the laws, the least I can do is try to ‘minimize’ the damage done by those who get to vote in my name without EVER consulting me…

Bizarrely, this ‘concept’ dates back to Ancient Greece, yet you can still find people who lament that there isn’t ‘a better way’.

Naturally, ‘better’ is a highly ‘relative’ term.

Admittedly, ‘unfiltered’ direct democracy could become a nightmare so even ardent Anarchists agree that there must be some ‘ground rules’ which regulate what can and cannot be put to a vote.

This is not as difficult as it seems.

The first rule all proposed new laws would have to meet before being put to a vote is an ancient one…the ‘golden rule’. If a proposed rule cannot meet this first ‘qualification’ then it is automatically ineligible to become a law.

It is from this ‘golden rule’ that the central premise of ‘A Simple Plan’ was formed.

The central premise of A Simple Plan is The Human Anti-Exploitation law.

Which outlaws any entity from using any human as an ‘income stream’.

How do you ‘sell’ to people?

Short answer…’YOU’ don’t (and neither does anybody else!)

Who do you work for?

Same people you work for now, your ‘paycheck’ is drawn from ‘society’.

You do what you do because it needs doing.

If things still have price tags on them then who gets the money I pay?

NOBODY, it is simply ‘erased’.

Why do that?

We are faced with economic collapse BECAUSE most of the money in our society has accumulated into the hands of those who need it least. If we fail to ‘re-balance’ our society, civilization itself will crumble!

THIS is the disturbing fact THAT NOT ONE POLITICIAN has acknowledged!

Are these people stupid or do they just think we are?

I am certainly not the first to point out that we are having the ‘wrong conversation’ but I know I am the only one pointing at the ‘root’ of the problem!

Fucking Hooray for ME!

(Which solves absolutely nothing…)

However, now YOU know what is ‘conspicuous by its absence’ and MAYBE something will be done about it!

So much for shitting ‘sitting’ on my hands…

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Gegner

Statistically indistinguishable from Zero...

Greetings good citizen,

The ‘nothing market’ surged up over 100 points this morning only to drop nearly the same amount by noon…go figure, right?

Mind you the ‘simpletoons’ in the MSM indeed wrote up the surge but they have, so far, remained mute on the equally as sharp…er, decline.

Maybe it’s just a sign of the times, since most ‘good news’ is so fleeting, you have to jump on it quick or you’ll miss it…

Bizarrely, the MSM fucktards almost never run a story about how the Dow was down 150 points before closing at plus two or three points (which they also make a big deal out of…)

Seriously good citizen, would these people have ANYTHING to tell us without the indecipherable gyrations of the stock market?

[Sadly, the answer is ‘no’.]

Well, on Friday they reported the GDP numbers of the third quarter, where one needs to be mindful that the 2% figure is base on ‘annualized’ growth (which is to say the actual third quarter number was multiplied by 4.)

Or, as Mr. Williams puts it

No. 331: Third-Quarter GDP, Quantitative-Easing Games, Homes Sales, New Orders Subscription required October 29th, 2010
• Third-Quarter GDP Growth Statistically Indistinguishable from Zero
• Official Economic Activity Is Virtually Flat Other Than for Inventory Building
• Fed Will Be Forced to Monetize Treasury Debt, Irrespective of Current Jawboning, Games Playing and Hand Wringing
• October Employment Data Likely Will Disappoint Market Expectations

How ‘unfortunate’ is it for the Republicans that the October unemployment numbers won’t be reported until AFTER the elections?

Which is to say it SHOULD still ‘BLOW YOUR MIND’ that the fuckers responsible for this catastrophe actually believe you’re STUPID ENOUGH to believe they will win the elections THEIR bought and paid for media reports…

IF the Republicans win enough seats to take back control of either house of Congress, you should consider it a ‘declaration of war’ against the citizens of this nation!

And you should react, er, ‘appropriately’.

There aren’t enough ‘Republicans’ or ‘Tea Partiers’ to fill a fucking thimble so HOW THE FUCK can they win even one election?

And THAT my friends, is a mystery to be pondered come Wednesday morning.

In the meantime we can only hope that MY accusations of ‘election fraud’ are totally misplaced.

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

If there is a 'landslide'...

Greetings good citizen,

Here we are on the eve of a, er, ‘historic’ election, one that the ‘party of no’ is, er, ‘screaming’ will change the face of politics in the USA.

I’d posit that ‘change’ took place a few decades ago. What is really ‘new’ about the ‘Tea Party’?

The (fucking) republicans have been ‘de-funding’ government (via tax breaks for the wealthy) for the past forty years, What’s this ‘Tea Party’ Bullshit? How does making the rich, richer help anything?

The very definition of INSANITY is doing the same thing repeatedly, each time expecting a different outcome.

As we have all suspected If there is a Republican/Tea Party landslide on Tuesday… it will be more than ‘miraculous’

Tea Party Patriots has claimed anywhere from 2,300 to nearly 3,000 local affiliates, but even with its assistance, The Post could only verify a total of only 647 Tea Party groups nationwide. Most had fewer than 50 members. The median amount of money each group had raised in 2010 was $800, nowhere near the entry fee for the country club.

647 X 50 = 32,350 [Nation-fucking-wide!]

Now if we take that one step further and add in the likelihood that a majority of ‘Tea Partiers’ are also ‘registered Republicans’ we’d end up with some portion of our 1 in 5 voters that admit to being ‘psycho’ er, Republican. (Now that ‘conservatism’ has been proven to be a certified ‘mental disorder’.)

But naturally, we have bigger fish to fry…

Also from today’s NY Times editorials is this pointless rant that merely serves to belabor the obvious.

Is it just me or does it appear that no matter where you look, the fucking capitalists don’t have any solutions to offer?

If this isn’t bad enough, Mr. ‘Flat Earth’ (the billionaire, gone green) continues to beat Western capitalism bloody with its own creations.

Is it really ‘Morning in India’ so soon after the sun has set on the USA? One thing is obvious; Mr. Friedman has more cash than brains. He rather astutely ‘shut up’ about the earth being flat once globalization proved to be a bust. Why he’s back to beating that same hobby horse must have more to do with his own stock portfolio than anything useful to continued human civilization.

An THAT good citizen is yet another piece of a much larger hell.

People looking to escape prosecution for their crimes against society have thrown our whole civilization under the bus.

Will the ‘Day of Reckoning’ ever come?

It will for some and they will wail the loudest about those who were allowed to escape.

So here’s the ‘strategy’ (whether you like it or not.)

Vote the Dems a ‘no fucking excuses super majority’, then see what they do.

If we fail at this we will continue to suffer the ‘opposition effect’. Shit will continue to go the ‘wrong’ way and the opposition will keep getting blamed.

If there is no ‘opposition’ THEY CAN’T do as they please!

Sadly, we can’t do this with the ‘worthless’ Republicans…they ‘don’t believe’ in government so they ‘can’t govern’. (This has boiled down to a ‘refusal’ to act in the public’s interest, which they sell as being in the public’s interest!)

As feeble as this is, it is also our best short term solution.

Get to the polls, you know what lever to pull (box to check or whatever you do where you vote.)

Even if you want to ‘punish’ the Democrats, removing their ‘opposition’ and watching them squirm will be far more 'satisfying!'

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Too Popular?

Greetings good citizen,

Almost two years into a ‘WTF’ presidency we are all wondering what the hell went wrong.

An obviously bright guy with ‘impeccable’ credentials, just the sort of fellow you’d look for when you were up to your ass in alligators and couldn’t find the drain plug.

Take the package home & plug it in and all of a sudden Mr. Bright & Articulate is overwhelmed by the reality of the situation.

We’ve seen this before and there are a multitude of reasons for his sudden utter stupidity, the most obvious being that he has sold us out. He told us what we wanted to hear with no intention of doing any of it.

But, hey, whatcha gonna do?

It’s ‘too late’ to reverse the election and besides, our problems are much bigger than electing a coward.

It is my honest ‘opinion’ that an honest and brave individual would not make it onto the ballot. If they did, they would not win for the same reason some of the most popular people in our society do not seek public office.

Ask yourself why Bill Gates or Warren Buffet don’t throw their hats into the political arena.

They most certainly have the money to run…and neither draws a paycheck from their current position…so the ‘low pay’ would not be a dis-incentive.

Many of our past presidents were war heroes…but there haven’t been any of those since Eisenhower.

Nope, what troubles me good citizen is why the guys who have become ‘household names’ don’t run for public office?

This is nothing new. Why didn’t Rockefeller ever run? How about Neutron Jack? He would have made a far more suitable ‘Chief Executive’ than Bonzo’s co-star.

Why doesn’t Bill Gates or Warren Buffett run?

They are certainly well known and for the most part, well thought of.

Rich guys in politics…We have the billionaire Bloomberg…as the Mayor of NY City.

But wait a minute Slim…there are a LOT of ‘millionaire’ Congressmen and Senators.

We all know Jimmy Carter was a ‘peanut farmer’. What we don’t know is the name of that company/corporation.

(I’m sure if I dug hard enough I could ferret it out but chances are that unlike the former Vice President, it wouldn’t be a ‘household name’ (like Halliburton) except in the region it was principally located in.

If it had been Skippy or Peter Pan, we’d have known about it.

But I digress.

Why do you suppose it is that the ‘Captains of Industry’ (as a rule) don’t run for public office?

Ross Perot is an interesting character but neither he nor his company entered the spotlight BEFORE he became a public figure.

More interesting is how this holds true going back through our long and sordid history.

J.P. Morgan could most certainly have run for president…but he wasn’t noted as being a particularly, er, ‘fair-minded’ individual.

Which leaves us to wonder, is the ‘hard nosed executive type’ really a poor choice for, er, ‘Commander in Chief’?

Right about now someone with the backbone to make a few tough decisions would certainly be most welcome!

But don’t get me wrong good citizen, I am NOT advocating making some ruthless hard-ass president, even if half of the swinging dicks elected to the job like to act the part.

This is just something that occurred to me while discussing a different issue.

Why don’t the already highly visible CEO’s toss their hats into the political arena?

Could it be because their corporate competitors wouldn’t stand for it?

Imagine what you could do (for your business) with the power of the Oval Office behind you!

If this is indeed THE reason some of the best known figures in our society DO NOT enter public service…we got deeper problems than anyone thought.

IS the principle disincentive to holding high elected office that of trading command for the position of becoming one of the hired help?

That’s a pretty damning indictment good citizen but I tell you what, if they weren’t all as crooked as hell, it is precisely the talent pool we would want to draw from!

Perhaps it is the ‘servant’ part of public service that keeps the rich and shameless away from the ‘representative’ corridors of power…

Which is to ask if our corporate overlords don’t run because they already ‘own’ what passes for our government?

This, naturally, begs the question of what we are going to do about this untenable situation.

Sure, things are ‘fine’ now but how long do you expect that to last.

This has been building for the past forty years, they ain’t turning aside now.

It is almost time for the mid-terms…if the ‘certifiable crazy’ conservatives do well in the elections you will KNOW the ballot box is useless.

Thanks for letting me inside your head,
