Anti-violence

Greetings good citizen,

I don’t know about the rest of you but I am thankful there isn’t a stock market to try and make sense of today, not that this affects reality on any given day…

Except in the way I mentioned yesterday…(about how the rest of us are being ripped off.)

Everywhere you look civilization is crumbling. Yet the corporate owned media continues to spout the ‘Happy Talk’ of economic recovery under the insidious assumption that you are too stupid to tell the difference…

Thankfully we have a few commentators that don’t take you for a chump

Here’s the latest from Mr. Williams of ShadowStats.com:

No. 398: September Trade Deficit November 10th, 2011
September Trade Data Suggest Minimal Upside Contribution to Pending GDP Revision

U.S. Fiscal Disaster Surpasses Any Problems Seen With Major Trading Partners

Pending Special Commentaries

Dunno quite what to make of that last one, (probably a ‘preview’ for subscribers…)

Anyway, no matter how you look at it, the world you and I were raised in is toast.

Yeah, there’s a disturbing tendency to look at this mess through the lens of me but what is happening to the US is happening to the rest of the world as well.

How fortunate is it that A Simple Plan is designed to expand infinitely!

(To facilitate that expansion there is a rather ‘hard-nosed’ trade policy incorporated into the plan.)

But I digress…

As I have commented on repeatedly, the news tends to cycle in lockstep with the news of the day being repeated throughout the media spectrum.

In Thursday’s ‘Local Rag’ there was an editorial that mirrored this morning’s piece from Joshua Holland of Alternet fame

I did not include any text from Joshua’s piece because he is ‘professionally constrained’ from engaging in ‘speculation’ (because he is one of the ‘serious people’.)

I am under no such restriction! I am free to speculate my ass off!

Breaking things and running away, who do you suppose that sounds like?

Tea Partiers anyone?

Who has been itching to get some dirt on these kids?

Same answer.

Does two plus two = cause and effect?

I have no ‘proof’ of that.

Anyway, didn’t the article in the local rag proclaim, enough is enough (and mind you, this guy usually voices liberal opinions!) That the OWS crowd had ‘made their point’ and continuing could only harm an otherwise ‘commendable’ movement.

What, pray tell, did our anonymous author base that opinion on, did the Wall Street fraudsters confess their guilt en masse? Did Congress rescind ALL Free Trade agreements (by ordering Wal-Mart to close?)

Hell no!

The writer knew the kids had accomplished as much as they were going to and that they should (temporarily) disband before a fairly delicate situation was turned on them like it has been in Oakland…

Conversely, the publicly funded corporate protection services are due to be faced with the price of their treachery.

While protests are a function of our First Amendment rights, they are but a precursor to an inevitable Second Amendment showdown.

Humanity's propensity to say one thing while knowing it to be utter bullshit has always disturbed me.

Does anyone honestly believe ANYTHING will change without violence?

(The ONLY reason Kings around the world WILLINGLY ‘abdicated’ was because it removed the ‘bulls-eye’ that comes with the crown! Once kings figured out that they could get what they wanted (riches) by moving their thrones into their Treasuries, they gladly surrendered the ‘reins of power’.

(No irony should be lost on the fact that this development roughly coincides with the concept of ‘printing’ money.)

The only other time change has come about without the use of force is when it was already too late.

Our current ‘Blood for Oil’ campaigns disguised as ‘the global war on terra’ are perfect examples of pointlessness.

No irony should be lost on the fact that these thinly disguised ‘oil wars’ have acted as a ‘jobs’ program that has served to hide the off-shoring of our economy.

Now our economy is so ‘hollowed out’ that this tactic has become fruitless.

So what do you think is going to happen when the Republicans win the White House around the same time a few hundred thousand soldiers come home to the economic desert?

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Thanksgiving...

Greetings good citizen,

Wall Street is following Europe higher today while the entire Euro-zone prepares to implode! Begging a question that has become increasingly nonsensical, albeit it frighteningly so.

Just what do the stock markets tell us?

The answer, good citizen, seems to be how much YOU are getting ‘ripped off’ by the elite who drive the ‘value’ of these increasingly worthless pieces of paper.

It would be comical if the end results weren’t so tragic!

The ‘glue’ that holds society together is reliability, you grow to rely on the institutions of society so you can plan for the future.

You ‘rely’ on the value of a dollar remaining reasonably constant.

So how disturbing is this false running up of stock values?

It’s all ‘money’ good citizen, same thing with the price of gold, if you don’t own any do you give a crap what it’s valued at?

BUT, when these ‘valuations’ start undermining the value of what you DO HAVE, the ‘arbitrary nature’ of these valuations can ruin you…

And guess what end result is?

If you can’t obtain what you need ‘peacefully’ then you will resort to whatever means necessary (because the end result is identical.)

Bottom line: consumers have to have money in their pockets. If it doesn’t come from private sector growth, then it has to come through government spending. We often hear that businesses create jobs. But in reality, sales and demand are the main source of jobs. No matter how cheap labor is, firms will not employ if they do not have sales for the production. Restaurants won’t hire another employee if the tables sit empty. That is a fundamental reason why John Maynard Keynes and others opposed wage cutting as a way of stimulating employment.

Right now, we’re in a state of emergency. The country’s economic output is still below levels reached in 2007. We need 15 million more jobs just to replace what was lost in the last 3 years. Employment remains stagnant, but we are told to tighten our belts and stop "living beyond our means." We are squeezed, and squeezed again. We hear talk about "unsustainable entitlement programs," such as Social Security and Medicare as if these programs had something do to with the collapse in the US economy. They didn’t.

The collapse occurred because the private credit bubble burst and households and firms began the long journey that will be necessary to restore the health of their balance sheets. It collapsed because the demand for goods and services was being driven by credit growth instead of real wages growth. That was always going to be an unsustainable growth path. Which can only mean one thing – there has to be more public spending – which should be targeted at maximizing the growth of decent and stable jobs.

This article’s title conjures images of some mighty dire outcomes…but doesn’t follow through, it seems only I will take the reader down that path.

Just as few can appreciate ’why’ populated areas will be set alight (to create a diversion) most will miss the primary objective as well. (The ’bank’ WILL NOT be the target this gruesome tactic, the supermarket will!)

By this point in the game, money will already be worthless and if that’s the case, law enforcement will also have become someone else’s ’part-time’ job.

So setting the town (or the woods surrounding the town) on fire will serve to keep the, er, ‘public safety workers’ distracted while you rob then of everything you can get your hands on.

Naturally, you won’t do this alone.

You will have/be part of a ‘crew’.

This works out well, the first time. Then you will need to travel farther afield to find targets that haven’t been hit and left wiped out.

When you run out of ‘easy targets’ your next mark will be raiding the stashes of other raiders…until it becomes too dangerous.

Once you have exhausted this food source you have to keep a close eye on the leader of your own group…once the ‘easy picking’s are exhausted, the only way to ‘stretch out’ supplies on hand will be to, er, ‘reduce the number of consumers’.

Depending on how ‘ruthless’ the leader of your group is will dictate how this matter will be handled.

‘Intelligent’ group leaders will find a resource rich area and go to ground.

Your typical MBA type will cull the weak/threats to his leadership first followed by continuing to engage in increasingly risky raids where loss of life often exceeds the value of supplies obtained.

Once it becomes apparent that you’re being led by a nit wit this also contributes to the degree of attrition in the group.

Again, I have painted in ‘broad strokes’ to give you an idea of what to look out for.

Chances are good you will initially ‘align’ yourself with a (to you) large group but many of these ‘pre-existing’ organizations don’t possess the leadership necessary to meet the groups needs…because they weren’t established to care for a group of survivors, they were established for some other cause.

And if they were ‘well armed’ BEFORE things went/go to shit, then that cause was probably ‘semi-suicidal’!

So chances are good that YOU will become the leader of a group of ‘mal-contents’ that recognize the danger of following an ‘unprepared’ leader too far.

The wise leader of a resource rich area will welcome you so long as you surrender peacefully and demonstrate a willingness to pull your weight.

Living off the land is hard work so the more ‘helping hands’ you have, the better.

As we edge nearer to the holiday known as Thanksgiving it is difficult to wrap your head around the day when every meal will be one that you’re deeply thankful for…

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

What's it gonna be?

Greetings good citizen,

Fantastically, good citizen, stock markets are back in positive territory after yesterday’s ‘rush for the exits’.

How ‘credible’ is this development?

I’d posit that credibility be damned, the stock markets went from 1,900 to 12,000 on the DISMANTLING of our industrial base but hey, what the fuck…can’t cry about it.

We couldn’t stop them from doing it, now we can only make then wish the fuck they hadn’t.

So, yesterday’s ‘point’ was the Euro-Zone IS ‘unsalvageable’ (under capitalism.)

What does that make today’s point?

That we live in a world measured by ‘creative accounting’, that two for me and none for you is how the world works (until you get fed up and say ‘fuck off, find another chump to put up with your bullshit!’)

And they do!

Naturally, the ‘other chump’ doesn’t suspect what he’s in for; he’s just happy he cheated the long period of unemployment between jobs.

Oh fucking well!

If we were to ‘split the difference’ between these two outcomes would we arrive at ‘equilibrium’?

That’s what those mismanaging our affairs would have you think, it all ‘balances’ in the end.

Sadly this is not the case.

Without a jubilee we have arrived at the ’end stage’ of capitalism, the stage where the interest on the debt/working capital of the global economy overwhelms the market’s ability to operate ‘profitably’.

Margins were slender to begin with, you don’t have to ‘roll over’ a whole lot of cash before you’re, er, ‘demanding’ more interest than a ‘normal’ investment can guarantee!

Let us not forget the ‘left behind’ worker and the sharp increase in defaults…

Destroy your ‘customer base’ and you flush future profitability down the drain with it.

Sadly, the choice to go down the road where we are currently standing was made long ago, it’s too late to turn back now. We must rebuild from scratch.

The damning indictment was not only did they ‘export’ the jobs, they also exported the equipment necessary to do the job with!

Left to our imagination is what good did a ‘college education’ do when these morons were signing ‘free trade agreements’ that were turning the nation into an ‘economic desert’?

But hey, wasn’t the ‘invisible hand’ supposed to take care of the, er, ‘void’ for us?

Tell that to all of the other Banana Republics in this capitalist world!

Oh there’s gonna be a fight all right, the question is, good citizen, whose gonna win?

We’ve got numbers on our side but they have ‘THE LAW’ on theirs…

Worse, good citizen, in this case it is ‘the law’ THEY make, so it always favors them.

How do you think we got here in the first place?

This perhaps best illustrates the need to place the law (as well as the statistics) of civilization beyond the reach of the ‘self-interested’.

Politicians have a long history of selling the rest of us down the river while ‘cooking the books’ to cover their tracks…

But this crisis isn’t ‘limited’ to politicians…our patriotic business owners have played fast and loose with the charters they were granted as well.

Which is to say this is the primary reason behind the ‘shrink the government movement…not that this will do them any good.

The French monarchy was firmly in the hands of a corrupt commercial sector and they both perished anyway!

Then, like now, stupid is as stupid does.

That’s something to keep in mind as we watch the ONLY indicator of ‘economic health’ act so irrationally as to be rendered useless.

And maybe that’s the point I keep missing.

The news tells us multiple millions are drowning in the cesspool the privileged have dug for us.

Why would the stock markets treat this as ‘good news’?

More for Them!

So what’s it going to be, good citizen?

More for Them and the cesspool for you (and yours since you won’t be around to defend them?)

Or should we hang Them (and those stupid enough to defend Them) High?

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Yet another 'Duh!' moment...

Greetings good citizen,

How are you today? May we dispense with the ‘niceties’ and get down to business?

Good.

Rewind to the post where I patiently explain ’why’ I write this blog. I explained then that I am NOT an economist BUT I am savvy enough to know that the state of the economy will ’dictate’ the conditions I’ll be expected to live my life under.

With that in mind you surely know that this applies to your life as well.

This blog contains my daily ‘observations’ (along with my proposed ’solution’ to the rapidly growing crisis, A Simple Plan.)

What do you suppose is going to happen when the ‘on again-off again’ rescue of the Eurozone reaches its obvious conclusion?

The (worthless) stock market ‘rallied’ yesterday afternoon to close up more than a hundred points (their bar tab must have fallen due!)

Where is that same ‘indicator of economic health’ this morning, 16 hours later?

Down 300 points!

Worse, good citizen this is on the heels of major run up in stock prices associated with the proposed ‘rescue’ of the Eurozone.

The major difference being, this morning’s NY Times top headline are ‘war drums’.

Is it just me or has it become SOP that every time the economy starts to tank, the hunt for someone to bomb/invade begins?

PARIS — Stocks and the euro fell sharply on Wednesday, as Italian sovereign bond yields rose to levels suggesting the much-feared financial contagion has reached the euro zone’s third-largest economy, raising fears about the future of the common currency.

There had been hope that Italy would move aggressively before its own finances came under the kind of pressure that has led Greece, Ireland and Portugal to seek bailouts. With pressure on his government growing, Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian prime minister, agreed late Tuesday to step down, but only after Parliament approves an austerity plan for which the prospects are currently unclear. [can’t leave without giving the Italian people one last good shot up the poop chute, eh Silvio?]

That has proved enough to convince investors that the problems of Italy and the euro will not be solved by his departure, especially as bickering political parties in Greece were working for a third day to form a new government able and ready to implement the painful measures needed to win funding from the European Union and International Monetary Fund.

Damn this ‘stick ‘em up’ thing, Greece won’t be able to restore its economy until they retake control of their own currency OR A Simple Plan is instituted.

Yeah, I’m an asshole with an agenda but I don’t hide that fact.

Why would the institution of A Simple Plan ‘save’ the Euro-zone?

Automatic Jubilee, followed immediately with the outlawing of ALL debt.

No ‘magic’ here good citizen. As I have stated repeatedly, NONE OF THIS IS NECESSARY! The entire global ‘debt crisis’ could be over tomorrow IF we took the necessary steps to insure it never happened again!

Which brings us full circle to A Simple Plan. The only holistic solution to both debt AND corruption!

But no! The current ‘fuck you, pay me’ crowd wants to keep you under their thumb, strangling the life out of you as they force you to pay more and more…and for what? They already have (almost) everything they want…so why keep pushing?

Oh yeah, they don’t have the fucking planet to themselves!

In "Half of US Mortgages Are Effectively Underwater," CNBC's Realty Check (yes, really) cites research from mortgage analyst Mark Hanson suggesting that the equity position of U.S. home "owners" (I use that term loosely) is far worse than the official tallies would have you believe.

On US totals, if you figure average house prices use conforming loan balances, then a repeat buyer has to have roughly 10 percent down to buy in addition to the 6 percent Realtor fee to sell. Thus, the effective negative equity target would be 85%. You also have to factor in secondary financing, which most measures leave out.

Based on that, over 50 percent of all mortgaged households in the US are effectively underwater — unable to sell for enough to pay a Realtor and put a down payment on a new purchase without coming out of pocket. Because repeat buyers have always carried the market as the foundation, this is why demand has not come back. It's as if half the potential buyers in America died over a two-year period of time.

My ‘point’ in asking your permission to proceed this morning was to draw your attention (once again) to the fucking Kabuki dance being performed by the corporate owned press.

Yesterday the stock markets ‘rallied’ to close in positive territory, today, not so much…

Is it beginning to look like they think we are stupid or are they too stupid to realize they aren’t fooling, er, most of us. (They routinely fool the average conservative!)

Claiming that they fool no one would be ‘inaccurate’…

How do I start my day? I begin by reading my mail then I go to the best damn aggregator on the web

All kidding aside, I’d be lost without my daily dose of CKM!

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Who IS to Blame?

Greetings good citizen,

Part of the Libertarian full frontal assault in favor of ‘free and unfettered markets’ has been the argument that the young have been screwed by the old

It’s the older generation’s ‘fault’ that there are no jobs and the government is broke…

How pathetic is it good citizen when a deep pocketed ‘think tank’ releases a study indicating that the ‘gap’ between the younger and older generations exists ‘naturally’ (ignoring the fact that there’s nothing ‘natural’ about what passes for our current economy.)

A new study purporting to show that older households are doing much better than younger ones in terms of wealth and income threatens to spark an intergenerational class war, pitting Americans of different ages – people who have all been devastated by the crash caused by Wall Street's recklessness -- against one another. But there are serious flaws in how the research is being interpreted.

The analysis, by Pew Research, is being spun as evidence that the government “spends too much” on the elderly while leaving younger Americans hanging out to dry. It's already becoming another weapon in the corporate right's long-running battle against Social Security.

There's no doubt that this economy is especially grim for young people. Unemployment among young adults continues to hover around 18 percent, and a report by the Federal Reserve found that full-time undergraduate students are borrowing 63 percent more for school than they did a decade ago. (Outstanding student-loan debt broke the trillion-dollar mark for the first time this year.) Young people have few prospects for decent jobs. This bleak situation is clearly a driving factor behind the emergence of the Occupy Wall Street movement; studies suggest that the “occupiers” skew young, don't have a lot of income and suffer from a much higher rate of unemployment than the country as a whole.

Anyway, the so-called ‘progressive press*’ is crying foul (and rightly so) at this latest attempt by conservatives to deflect blame for the negative consequences of their policy decisions.

(* Can there be a ‘progressive press’ if the Democratic Party no longer exists?)

DO SOME of the OWS protesters ‘blame’ the ‘old people’ for their plight?

Sure they do, because they are IGNORANT of how we got to be where we are today!

Where does the real blame lie? It lies with their great-grandparents who failed to put an end to capitalism when they had the chance in 1933.

Not that there was a viable alternative to capitalism back then. In those days socialists held sway (which is where the ‘New Deal’ came from, thank you!)

Tough to wrap you head around the notion that the same generation that produced Edison and Einstein FAILED to see the danger inherent in ‘income streams’!

Literally boggles the mind good citizen…but then you probably don’t have any idea what I’m talking about, do you?

Ready for another ‘jaunt off of the reservation?’

Good, buckle up, it’s going to be bumpy!

Why do (most) lottery winners (eventually) file for bankruptcy? The answer lies in the ‘income stream’.

Why are ‘rich people’ rich?

Again, the answer is (at least partially) due to control/ownership of an income stream.

What is an ‘income stream?’

For the average schmuck, your paycheck constitutes YOUR income stream.

Why aren’t you ‘rich’? because your income stream is intentionally too small to live on.

Rich people have (through the power of ownership) much larger income streams than you have access to so, unlike lottery winners, their income stream doesn’t ‘dry up’.

Like a movie set, YOU are the person the camera/siphon is aimed at, everybody on the other side of the camera uses YOU as THEIR income stream!

If you make barely enough to live on, how does somebody else use YOU as THEIR income stream?

Ownership TO THE INDIVIDUAL is essentially MEANINGLESS, power flows from owning A LOT of a particular commodity.

Yet you are ‘required’ to own a great number of items (if you expect to function in our modern society)…which also (unfortunately) serves to keep you in perpetual poverty.

You can see why they don’t teach this in school, kids would be murdering one another for their lunch money before they hit fourth grade!

Ironically, Libertarians would be fine with this…if they believe in nothing they believe in Darwin and the ‘law of the jungle’.

(Until either/or goes against them, then they want the ‘protection of the courts’!)

They’re all ‘ANIMALS’…until it is their turn to be eaten.

But I (once again) digress. I have explained what an ‘income stream IS but I have NOT explained why they are an ‘abomination’.

This brings us to the current global ‘banking crisis’, which, naturally, nobody is explaining correctly (or the revolution would already be underway…if not over already!)

Income streams are the primary reason why pretty much ALL of the money in a given society ends up stuck in the figurative ‘top’ of the income distribution.

Understand, good citizen; Civilization DOES NOT need money to operate NOR does it need to be ‘profitable’! (Don't you wish they'd teach THAT in school!)

Most people have been (rightly) scratching their heads wondering just who keeps putting the world’s tail in the financial wringer?

WHO (precisely) is saying ‘stick ‘em up’ to the rest of the civilized world?

THE SAME PEOPLE WHO ALREADY HAVE MORE THAN THEY CAN FUCKING SPEND!

Is that fucking insane or what?

If we were to stand them up on a gibbet with a noose around their neck, how quickly do you think they’d recant?

You’d get the occasional ‘nutter’ who would, even under those circumstances, stick to his/her guns and say ‘fuck you, pay me!’ as the trap door swung open beneath their feet…

Acting is a fine profession but there are limits, there’s a time to act and there’s a time to face the music.

Which is to say if a paycheck is ‘good enough’ for 99% of us then it is good enough for ALL of us…

And the ‘cornerstone’ of A Simple Plan is the Human anti-exploitation law which voids the ‘employer-employee relationship’.

If you were to ask me, it is long overdue. NOBODY should be given the ability to hold another individual’s livelihood ‘hostage’!

That and there will NEVER be enough jobs if we continue to support the capitalistic system of the employer ‘winning’ the difference between the cost to produce and the sell price…great for them but it SUCKS for everyone else!

The global race to the bottom has ruined the global economy and only a complete moron thinks there’s even a remote chance of ‘saving’ it.

Which is NOT to say there shouldn’t be a global economy, there has long been one but the need to ‘balance’ that against the reality that nobody can survive in an economic desert desperately needs to be addressed.

But that’s the trouble with ‘going off the reservation’; there’s so much ground to cover that you can easily get lost jumping from point to point.

There are so many reasons why we need to alter what we do and why we do it.

I heard (constantly) when I was growing up that nobody had a ‘better way’ than capitalism…and if there was something better, people would sure love to hear about it.

Well, I created that ‘better way’…but nobody wants to abandon the ‘devil they know’.

How unfortunate is it for you good citizen that failing to embrace change when the opportunity presents itself condemns your children to worse privation than you have suffered…all so (the same) ‘few’ can be rich?

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Want vs. Need

Greetings good citizen,

Markets opened ‘slightly up’ this morning for (as usual) no apparent reason. Conversely, it didn’t take me long at all to unearth this disturbing article

As you and I both know, businesses that lose money quickly go bankrupt under the ‘fuck you, pay me’ social model that is capitalism.

MANILA, Philippines — Shipping lines are losing a record $141 for each container they haul to Europe from Asia, the world’s second-largest trade route for the boxes, as slowing economies dent demand, ACM/GFI said.

Companies are losing money even at a freight rate of $649 a container because of a fuel surcharge of $790 for each box, Mels Boer and Cherry Wang, container-derivatives brokers at ACM/GFI, said in a report e-mailed Oct. 28. Losses were at the highest level last week since a tally of rates began in March 2009, Wang said.

“Current rates on the route Asia to Europe are way lower than the lows seen in 2009,” said ACM/GFI, a joint venture between London-based ACM Shipping Plc and GFI Group Inc., located in New York. Shipping companies were losing $41 for each 20-foot box in June that year, according to the report.

Not one but TWO undeniable economic trends are on display here, ‘demand exhaustion’ along with energy expenses driving costs out of reach!

It is even more interesting to see stories like this running in, er, ‘batches’

Earlier this week, the (estimated) total number of people in the world blew past 7 billion. To put that number in context, for the first 70,000-odd years of human history, the total human population was around 1 million. Then, over the course of the next ~10,000 years through 1800, the population gradually grew to 1 billion. And now the population has increased 7X in the past 200 years.

Many of the resources used to sustain this population, meanwhile, have not grown.
On the contrary, they've shrunk. Because we've used them up. Oil, for example. And metals. And potassium, which is used to make fertilizer, which is used to grow the food we eat.

Optimists laugh at the idea that we should be concerned about this — ever-growing population and ever-shrinking resources. Science and innovation will save us, they argue. They always have. ("Always," in this context, of course, means the past few hundred years, which is less than 1% of human history.)
Read more:

The goods will ultimately reach the market and be sold ‘for a profit’ even if this is done by ‘liquidators’. The ‘suppliers’ get liquidated as well because they are the ones that ultimately ‘eat’ the losses when something like this happens.

The ships themselves, along with the containers, are ‘parked’ in the middle of the ocean, where they will wait for business to, er, ‘pick-up’.

And if it doesn’t?

Oh fucking well!

We, as a species, can no longer afford the ‘luxury’ of maintaining a commerce system that exists to enrich the owners at the expense of its customer base.

The coming carnage will be staggering. Billions will die and large swaths of infrastructure will be destroyed (since all money is funny I won’t attach a ‘dollar value’ to ‘property destruction’, it’s all relative anyway.)

So, back to the beginning…we are going into the fourth year of the so-called ‘Great Recession’ and ‘consumer demand’ still hasn’t stopped falling.

What needs to be done about this, good citizen?

Our Libertarian friends (and oxymoron in itself as Libbies are so ‘self-sufficient’ they don’t need ‘friends’) subscribe to the notion that you don’t ‘need’ ANYTHING, you ‘want’ stuff…like breathing and water/food.

Somehow, bizarrely, this ‘wanting’ isn’t ‘enough’. Perhaps this is how they get to sleep at night. By turning ‘biological imperatives’ into (selfish) ‘desires’ they can, in good conscience, ignore them…and if you die as a result of their convictions, it’s not their problem, it’s yours…

Ironically, the ‘solution’ for the Libertarian problem is to give them precisely what they want, a community populated with ‘like-minded’ individuals!

But I digress, this is not ‘totally’ about the cancer that is Libertarianism, it’s about the ‘end result’ of the ‘fuck you, pay me’ mindset.

Um, losing $140 dollars per container will lead to the same thing that happened during the Great Depression when farmers couldn’t recover the cost of harvesting their crops, they abandoned them while millions of US children starved!

That’s what the ‘more for me’ capitalism get you!

Which is to point out (once again) that what passes for society is being seriously ‘mismanaged’.

I mix in the ‘Libertarian Philosophy’ lessons to provide you with a reason ‘why’ this highly improbable bullshit is going on. In a world (yes WORLD) ‘ruled’ by less than .01% of the population you don’t need to have a lot of Libertarians to fuck things up royally!

That’s when ‘scary’ hits you where you live, the realization that the few can and will fuck things up big-time for the rest of us!

In a nutshell, the plan is to push us into our own cesspool (that they conveniently had dug for us) then to let us kill each other off, only to ‘re-emerge’ in a ‘barbaric’ future to ‘rescue’ us from ourselves.

The, er, ‘ridiculous’ part of this ‘fantasy’ is the ‘honeymoon’ of living under ‘noble nobles’ usually lasts less than a single generation…then its back to the ‘us vs. them’ game.

They institute taxes (for us, not them) to make ‘social improvements’ like courthouses and jails (ironically) then they can’t understand why people are ‘unhappy’ (especially the victims of the ‘for profit’ justice system.)

As you can see good citizen, there are many factors in our civilization that desperately ‘need’ re-visiting…although a Libbie would say I merely ‘want’ to revisit these issues.

Which raises a curious question, how does a Libertarian, er, classify, their, er, ‘desire’ to be ‘free’? is it a want or is it a need?

I suspect it depends on whose freedom is being discussed, when it come to the freedom of others, it’s a ‘want’ but when it comes to their own it is suddenly a ‘need’, go figure!

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Twofer

Greetings good citizen,

I titled this particular post ‘twofer’ because there are two important issues in this article…

Okay, that was uncalled for. (I heard the sigh and caught the eye-roll!) Which one of you muttered ‘duh’?

It’s Sunday, give it a rest!

Well, I’d call 'Duh!' an understatement considering how obvious the first point is

Owners do NOT and CAN NOT ‘create jobs’:

One reason we have so few ideas about job creation is that up until recently, the U.S. economy had been growing so well for so long that few economists spent much time studying it. (They’re trying to make up for it now. See this chart.) With no new theories, Democrats dusted off the big idea from the Great Depression, John Maynard Keynes’s view that government can create jobs by spending a lot of money. The stimulus, however, has to be borrowed, and it has to be really, truly huge — probably something like $1.5 or $2 trillion — to fill the gap between where the economy is and where it would be if everyone was spending at pre-recession levels. The goal is to goad consumers into spending again. And President Obama’s jettisoned $400 billion jobs package, hard-core Keynesians argue, is nowhere near what it would take to persuade them.

STOP!

Bonehead is discounting ‘Keynesian theory’ (which actually works ‘locally’ but let us not forget, ‘temporarily.’)

Since we no longer enjoy a ‘sealed’ economy (where money pumped into one segment of the economy stays within the same economy) the Keynesian Ideal no longer works…as well.

To pull off a Keynesian recovery, we’re talking quadrillions of dollars, essentially paying people to buy what they ordinarily wouldn’t!

You don’t have to look at this too closely to see that this is ‘unsustainable’ (but that’s capitalism for ya!)

Many Republicans follow the more fiscally conservative University of Chicago School, which argues that Keynesian stimulus can’t heal a sick economy — only time can. Chicagoans believe that economies can only truly recover on their own and that policy interventions only slow the recovery. It’s a puzzle of modern politics that Republicans have had electoral success with a policy that fundamentally asserts there is nothing the government can do to create jobs any time soon. [snip]

Keynesians and Chicagoans, however, do agree on two important points. First, in economics, unlike politics, there’s no middle ground: You can’t simultaneously cut and increase government budgets. The only shot we have at truly transforming our economy is a one-party sweep in the 2012 elections that would lead to radical legislative changes. Still, either path — lots more debt or lots of fired government workers — will only inflame more Americans.

And here we see the gaping hole in Postulate Number 2, that ‘time’ will heal a ‘saturated market’.

It will not!

The ‘boom’ followed by the ‘war of attrition’ is the ‘natural course’ for so-called ‘free markets’.

Take a look at this world. It is full of ‘Banana Republics’.

Time has NEVER brought prosperity to ANY of these economies, it only ‘temporarily’ brings prosperity to the worthless bastards that enslave/employ them!

During these ‘booms’ (where they temporarily enjoy ‘cheapest labor market’ status) the ‘misery of perpetual poverty’ is ‘lifted’ as the capitalists cheer their victims on with images of their ‘bright future’.

Only, like ‘trickle down economics’ the crumbs from the exploiters table never reach the average worker…the criminals get them first.

EMPLOYERS/OWNERS DO NOT ‘CREATE’ JOBS, ONLY MOTHER NATURE CAN DO THAT!

Where no ‘biological imperative’ exists there isn’t any ‘demand’. You may ‘like’ art but you don’t ‘need’ it.

Conversely, the air may stink but you still ‘need’ to breathe!

Why economists, er, ‘overlook’ these obvious issues remains a mystery.

Market saturation is reached when everybody (who can afford it) has what they need.

Understand what this means good citizen.

‘Growth’ will NEVER occur fast enough to support a ‘for profit’ economy! (and if it did, resources would quickly be exhausted as 'carrying capacity' was exceeded!)

Once again I have submitted a Nobel Prize winning economic theory the consistently proves itself to be true but the Nobel committee is made up of capitalists…and they only award prizes to ‘economists’ whose work ‘advances’ the cause of capitalism.

Yet another of life’s ‘Aw shit’ moments.

Lucky for me ‘all money is funny’, eh?

If we use the proven fact that only Mother Nature/biological imperative ‘creates’ jobs/work, then we MUST conclude that our society is seriously ‘mismanaged’.

Our whole ‘doctrine’ of the ‘obligation of a corporation is to its shareowners’ is in direct conflict with the purpose of civilization, which is to make the life of (all of) its members ‘full’.

The ‘conflict’ here is the upper class ‘fixation’ that you CAN’T have BOTH!

Yet any fool can see that this is a lie!

And we continue to do ‘nothing’ about it.

Except those courageous OWS’ers, they are the proverbial ‘tip of the spear’.

Crunch time is close and getting closer…

Prepare good citizen!

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Gegner
